So first semester of law school was an adventure. New city, new people, new study habits... and all of that meant that my running habits did not exactly meet my standards... as in they were sporadic, at best. But, it's winter break, and I have no law books with me and no reading to do, so what better time than to put back on the sneakers and start running.
So this is a blog of my journey to finally completing a marathon, finally doing a half marathon, and maybe even trying a triathlon. Basically, I want to keep up with my running not to achieve these goals, but because I love it, and these goals are going to help me keep up with my running.
Today's run was a run/walk combo, 2 miles walk / 1 mile run / 2 miles walk. It felt great, with no foot problems like I've had before (knock on wood). I did the run a little faster than I've run all semester and put in a pretty nice speed burst toward the end, which was tough, but felt good.
The plan is to follow the Fitness 8 week training plan, which sandwiches running in between the walks like I did today, and puts me on track for a half right around the first week in February. I'm also planning to do some interval training (a-la Couch to 5K) and throw in some Tabata intervals as well.... I'll keep this updated!
